It's that time of year with holidays, Christmas, next years school uniforms .... finances can be squeezed. We have had many dads on our team working short shifts of just 2-3 hours, just 2 or 3 times a week, to really give their incomes a boost. For those out there who think I’m living the easy life in Zambia ... here are some reality pics for Instagram. 😅🤪 Sweeping (the layers of daily dust and bugs) old school style with a broom ... because ... 12 hour daily electricity cuts. Laundry by hand, because even if I had electricity my washing machine is still broken and I can’t get the part. On order and the nearest big town is 2 hours away. So it’s just gone 10am and a well deserved tea break ... thank you Lord for gas so I can boil some water. Now I’ll leave my phone in a strategic spot to hopefully get signal to upload this post. 😂 Still, feeling grateful that I can work remotely, grateful for a dry home to sweep, and grateful to be reminded, every time I give our helpers a cup of tea, that a cup of tea is a luxurious treat for many. x Colleen #mondaymadness #remoteworking #zamlife Edit: that’s not dirt on my counter ... it’s very chipped! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️
